Mission


 

The Cyprus Studies Center was established by the Eastern Mediterranean University in 1995 to encourage and protect academic research on the history, cultural heritage, socio-political and environmental problems of Cyprus. The main research areas of interest of the center are archeology, anthropology, architecture, history, art, art history, linguistics, literature, music, law, economics, social science, folklore, gender studies, philology, psychology, political sciences, international relations, and environmental problems.

The Center still regularly organizes the International Congress of Cyprus Studies and national symposium-themed of Turkish Cypriots who left a mark to present new information in the field of biography and social history publishing the presented papers in a book form. In addition, since 1995, the Journal of Cyprus Studies has been publishing scientific and original research within the scope of a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed, international journal that publishes in two languages (English and Turkish) biannually.
